DUNE Wines
Grenache Noir
Wine of Origin Limietberg Wine of South Africa
750ml, 11.88%vol, A1022, RS 3.6 g/l, TA 6.2 g/l, pH 3.58
The wine was naturally fermented in old 300 litre open-top barrels with 100% stalks. Ageing took place in a single 300 l 4th fill French oak barrel for 15 months. The colour is light ruby almost crimson and the nose is a layer cake of candy floss, perfume, white pepper and Turkish Delight which allows the delicate and fresh palate to carry the subtle flavors to a delicate and rounded finish.
Enjoy slightly chilled or at room temperature.
Our first Grenache Noir was Handcrafted from site specific vineyards from the gateway to the Limietberg mountains at and in collaboration with Doolhof to the specification of Joe Lategan and his sons Adriaan and Hardus by Gielie Beukus the winemaker.
Dune selected wines
Besides creating our own wines we understand that there are great winemakers and wines in South Africa and are privileged to also present wines we carefully selected according to taste and value for money. Our criteria is very specific and unique and fit the ever changing shape of a dune by the elements of nature.
The selection of wines would also thus most probably change continuously.
At Dune we are also committed to expose the lesser known cultivars that should deservedly be as popular as the most known or common cultivars to a wider wine drinking public as far as we are concerned in stead of being driven by quick and bulk sales.
